Boys Basketball Ranked 10th in ASWA 6A Poll

The Cougar Varsity basketball team is off to a hot 8-0 start under veteran coach Janasky Fleming.  During the first week of the ASWA 6A rankings the Northview Cougars start out at the 10th spot in 2015. CLASS 6A 1. Carver-Montgomery (5-1) 2. Lee-Huntsville (7-3) 3. Bessemer City (8-1) 4. Homewood (9-1) 5. Blount (8-4)

Boys and Girls Bowling Teams win Auburn Tournament

The Northview Boys and Girls Bowling Teams traveled to Auburn on Wednesday and won both Championships.  Other teams that were there were Benjamin Russell, Valley, Jeff Davis, Robert E. Lee, Beauregard, and Houston Academy.    

Girls Swim Team State Bound

The girls swim team is state bound!  The girls qualified for the 4 by 50 free relay.  The relay team includes swimmers Morgan Bull, Mckenzie Dalton, Eden McMillan and Caroline Pynes.  The girls advance to the state meet at Auburn University at the Martin Aquatics Center, December 4 – 5.  Great job ladies and good

Boys Basketball Off to Good Start

The varsity boys basketball team is off to a good start this season.  They are currently      3-0 with victories coming against Jeff Davis, Barbour County and Rehobeth.  The boys are led by head coach, Janasky Fleming, and assistant coaches, Mike Miller, Ron Bowers and Tyler Hill.  The boys will play in Carroll High

Zhang Brothers Advance to State

Wen Zhang, freshman, took first at sectionals in the boys 50 Free and the boys 100 Free. Han Zhang, senior, also qualified to move on to state in the same events.  Congratulations to brothers Han and Wen as they move onto state.  The state meet will be held at the Martin Aquatics Center at Auburn

Boys Swim Team Takes First

NHS boys took first in the boys 4 by 50 freestyle relay at the Sectional meet in Mobile. Swimmers for the freestyle relay include Fuller McMillan, Blake Pynes, Wen Zhang and Han Zhang.  Congratulations to the boys team as they advance to the state meet in Auburn, December 4 – 5.

Girls’ Bowling Wins

The girls’ bowling team brought home a victory in their first ever bowling match.  They beat Houston Academy by a combined score of 1436-1195.  The girls won both of their traditional 10-pin games.  They won game one 621-473 and game two 604-516.  The girls beat Houston Academy in the first game of baker style scoring
